Our story
Why Arelis exists
Arelis AI was founded in Cologne in 2025 by Ramón Marrero, after fifteen years of building data and AI platforms in production. The pattern was always the same: teams could ship AI quickly, but nobody could say with confidence which systems were running, what risks they carried or who was accountable for them.
We started with Arelis Hub, a gateway that gives engineering teams governed access to models from many providers. The harder problem turned out to be governance itself: how to inventory AI, classify it under the EU AI Act and prepare for ISO/IEC 42001. That became AIMS, our AI management system.
Ramón also wrote the ISO 42001 Implementation Playbook for AI Leaders, and its templates are free for anyone to use. We think good governance should be easy to start, whether or not you buy our software.
How we work
Three principles
Evidence over assertion
Governance is only real if you can show it. Everything in AIMS exists to produce a record someone else can check.
Practical, not ceremonial
Policies nobody reads do not reduce risk. We build workflows that fit how product and engineering teams already work.
Honest about the rules
We say what the regulation requires and what it does not, and we never promise a certificate or a conformity outcome we cannot give.
